You: I got it! I got the job!
Friend: Congratulations! I knew you would.
You: Thank you for saying that.
Friend: When will you begin your work?
You: Well, I’ll get on-the-job training for a month. After that I’ll handle the normal work.
Friend: That’s great! What kind of job will you do?
You: Sales and marketing.
Friend: That sounds worthwhile. I think you are good at talking. So that job fits you perfectly.
You: I think so, too.

Friend: That’s great! What kind of job will you do? (それはすごい！どんな仕事をするの？)
You: Sales and marketing. (営業だよ。)
Friend: That sounds worthwhile. I think you are good at talking. So that job fits you perfectly. (それはやりがいがありそうだね。君は話すことがうまいと思う。だから、その仕事は君にぴったりだよ。)
You: I think so, too. (僕もそう思うよ。)
会話「就職活動」
Yumi and Bill are talking about the job hunting. (ゆみとビルが就職活動について話をしています。)
Bill: What’s the matter, Yumi? You look sad. (ゆみ、どうかしたの？悲しそうだね。)
Yumi: I went for my 10th job interview yesterday. (昨日、10回目の面接を受けてきたの。)
Bill: How did it go? (どうだった？)
Yumi: It was terrible. I had to introduce myself in English. I couldn’t promote myself well. But there just aren’t enough jobs for graduates these years.
(ひどかったわ。英語で自己紹介をしなければならなかったの。自分をうまく売り込むことが出来なかったの。 でも、近年は大卒者に十分な職が本当にないわ。 ）
Bill: Yes, I’ve heard that everything is very competitive now. Why don’t you try for a different job?
(そうだね。全てがとても厳しい競争のようだね。違う職にチャレンジしてみたら？)
Yumi: I think I’ll have to. And I have to study English more.
(そうしなければと思っているわ。そして、英語をもっと勉強しなきゃ。)
Bill: Oh, can I help you with studying English? (ああ、英語の勉強を手伝おうか？)
Yumi: Thank you. I feel assured. (ありがとう。心強いわ。)
