エリは友人のトニーに電話をかけます。早速その会話を覗いてみましょう。

Eri calls to Tonny.
Eri: Hello?
Tonny: Hey, Eri. How’s everything?
Eri: Not bad. But I have trouble improving my TOEIC score. I got the result of TOEIC back last week. My TOEIC score is 550.
Tonny: I suppose it’s not so bad.
Eri: My company require a certain level of TOEIC scores for promotions. So I have to study English hard. Can you give me any advice?
Tonny: How do you study?
Eri: I use the TOEIC book with Audio CDs. But I can’t always understand the meanings. Can you teach me English grammar?
Tonny: All right.
Eri: I’d like to come to your house tomorrow. Is that OK?

certain：「確かな」「一定の」
promotion：「昇進」
not always～：「いつも～とは限らない」
grammar：「文法」
come to：相手にとっては「来る」なので、go toにはしない。

Eri: Hello? (もしもし。)
Tonny: Hey, Eri. How’s everything? (やあ、エリ。元気？)
Eri: Not bad. But I have trouble improving my TOEIC score. I got the result of TOEIC back last week. My TOEIC score is 550. (まあまあよ。でも、TOEICスコアが上がらなくて困っているの。先週、TOEICの結果が返ってきたの。私の点数は550点。)
Tonny: I suppose it’s not so bad. (それほど悪く無いと思うけど。)
Eri: My company require a certain level of TOEIC scores for promotions. So I have to study English hard. Can you give me any advice? (うちの会社が、昇進のためには一定のTOEICスコアを要求しているの。だから一生懸命に英語を勉強しなくてはならない。何かアドバイスが欲しいわ。)
