museumを日本語にすると、「博物館」「美術館」の他に、「展示館」「記念館」などの意味にも使えます。英語のmuseumは、広い意味で使われているのですね。この”muse”は、ギリシャ神話に登場する「ミューズ（ムーサ）」で、音楽、舞踊、歴史的芸術、学問などを司る九女神の一人の名前なのです。
さて、サリーとイチローが博物館について話をしています。早速その会話を覗いてみましょう。

It’s the most favorite museum for me.
Ichiro: Why do you like it so much?
Sally: Because it’s large and mystic.
And we can watch a great many famous works there.
Ichiro: What’s on now?
Sally: “Egypt Exhibition” is held now.
Do you know this museum is open every day?
Ichiro: Is it right? How much is an admission fee?
Sally: It’s free.
Ichiro: That’s amazing!
Sally: I’m going to go there next summer vacation.
Ichiro: Really? Can I go there with you?
Sally: I’m sorry but you can’t.
I’ll go there with my boyfriend.

Have＋主語＋been to～？：「主語は～へ行ったことがありますか？」
ここでは、経験を表す現在完了形。現在完了形はhave＋動詞過去分詞を使う。「行ったことがある」の時は、goneではなくbeenを使う。
ever：「今までに」
The British Museum：「大英博物館」
three times：「3回」で、once「1回」, twice「2回」,この後は～timesを使う。
the most：「一番～」最上級を表すときに、2音節以上の長い形容詞や副詞に付ける。
favorite：「お気に入りの」
so much：「それほど」
mystic：「荘厳な」
a great many：「とてもたくさんの」
famous ：「有名な」
work：「作品」
Egypt：「エジプト」
exhibition：「展覧会」
be held：「開催されている」holdは「開催する」
admission fee：「入館料」
free：「無料の」
amazing：「驚くべき」「すばらしい」
summer vacation：「夏期休暇」
Can I～?：「～しても良いですか？」と許可を求める。
I’m sorry～：返答として、「申し訳ないが～」と言いたいときに使う。
but you can’t：butを付けることで、後に続く「出来ません」を言うためのクッションになる。
