You: What’s the matter with you?
Acquaintance: A thief broke into my house.
You: Oh, that’s bad! Did you see him?
Acquaintance: Yes, I did. When I came back home, he was just going out.
You: What did the thief look like?
Acquaintance: Well, let me see. He was tall and slim.
You: What color were his clothes?
Acquaintance: His jacket was black and his pants were… I don’t remember those color.
You: Anything else?
Acquaintance: He had rough hair.
You: What were you stolen?
Acquaintance: My wallet. But there was a small sum of money.

What’s the matter with～：「～がどうかしたのですか？」
thief：「泥棒」「窃盗犯」
break into～：「～に押し入る」
look like：「のように見える」
let me see.：「ええと」
slim：「細い」「やせた」
Anything else：「何か他に」
rough hair：「ぼさぼさの髪の毛」
steal：「盗む」過去形はstole、過去分詞はstolen
wallet：「財布」
a small sum of money：「少額の金」

Acquaintance: Yes, I did. When I came back home, he was just going out. (そうなんだ。 僕が帰宅したときに、ちょうど泥棒が出て行くところだったんだ。)
You: What did the thief look like? (泥棒はどんな風貌だった？)
Acquaintance: Well, let me see. He was tall and slim. (ええと……。背が高くてやせていた。)
You: What color were his clothes? (服の色は？)
Acquaintance: His jacket was black and his pants were… I don’t remember those color. (上着は黒くてパンツは…… パンツの色は覚えていない。)
You: Anything else? (他に何か覚えている？)
Acquaintance: He had rough hair. (ぼさぼさの髪の毛だった。)
You: What were you stolen? (あなたは何を盗まれたの？)
Acquaintance: My wallet. But there was a small sum of money. (財布。でも、少額しか入っていなかった。)
