    今回のテーマは「用事が山ほどある」です。

    ポールとシンがお互いの用事について話をしています。

    早速その会話を覗いてみましょう。

    ★会話★

    Paul and Shin are talking about their errands.

    Paul: Do you have time after work?

    Shin: I’m sorry I don’t. I have a lot of errands to run.

    Paul: Why are you in such a hurry? Can you leave it for later?

    Shin: No, I can’t. I really need to finish them by tonight.

    Paul: I wanted you to help me. But I’ll find someone else to help me for you.

    Shin: Are you busy, too?

    Paul: Yes, I’m going to move to a different town. So I have to get my things ready.

    Shin: When will you move?

    Paul: The day after tomorrow.

    Shin: Well I’ll come straight to you after I finish my errands.

    Paul: Thanks a lot.

    Shin: I’m sorry I don’t. I have a lot of errands to run. (ごめん、時間がとれない。山ほどやらなければならないことがあるんだ。)

    Paul: Why are you in such a hurry? Can you leave it for later? (なぜそんなに急いでいるの?後に回せない?)

    Shin: No, I can’t. I really need to finish them by tonight. (いや、それはできない。どうしても今夜までに終わらせなければならないんだ。)

    Paul: I wanted you to help me. But I’ll find someone else to help me for you. (君に手伝って欲しかったんだけどな。でも、君の代わりに誰かを探すよ。)

    Shin: Are you busy, too? (君も忙しいの?)

    Paul: Yes, I’m going to move to a different town. So I have to get my things ready. (うん、他の町に引っ越しするんだ。だから、荷物をまとめなきゃならない。)

    Shin: When will you move? (引っ越しはいつ?)

    Paul: The day after tomorrow. (明後日だよ。)

    Shin: Well I’ll come straight to you after I finish my errands. (じゃあ、僕の用事が終わり次第駆けつけるよ。)

    Paul: Thanks a lot. (ありがとう。)

    ★つ・ぶ・や・き★

    引っ越しをするのは、大変なことです。

    私も何度か引っ越しをしたことがありますが、そのたびに荷物の多さに改めて驚きました。

    新居に引っ越した後も、その荷物をほどいて適当な場所に置く、という作業もありますね。

    そんなときは、頼りになる助っ人がいてくれると助かるものです。
