早速その会話を覗いてみましょう。

You are going to eat lunch.
You: Hi! Let’s go to the cafeteria.
Colleague: Okey-dokey! But I need to stop on the 4th floor. I have to hand the report to the sales manager.
You: All right. I’ll go with you.
Colleague: Let’s hurry up. I want to hang out after eating.
You: Where will you stroll?
Colleague: I’m new here, so I don’t know this town very well. Is there any place you want to introduce me?
You: Yes, I’ll show you around this building.
Colleague: That’s nice!
You: But we need a lot of time to do that. Will you have free time after work today?
Colleague: Yes, I’ll have a lot of time.

cafeteria：会社や学校などの「食堂」
okey-dokey：くだけた言い方で「OK」「いいよ」
hand＋もの＋to人：「ものを人に手渡す」
sales manager：「営業部長」
hurry up：「急ぐ」
hang out：「ぶらぶらして時を過ごす」
stroll：「散策する」
new：「不案内の」「慣れていない」
not～very well：「あまり～ない」
introduce：「紹介する」

You are going to eat lunch. (あなたはランチを食べに行こうとしています。)
You: Hi! Let’s go to the cafeteria. (やあ！カフェテリアへ行こうよ。)
Colleague: Okey-dokey! But I need to stop on the 4th floor. I have to hand the report to the sales manager.(いいよ！でも、4階に寄らなきゃならないんだ。営業部長にレポートを手渡さなくちゃ。)
You: All right. I’ll go with you. (わかった。君と一緒に行くよ。)
Colleague: Let’s hurry up. I want to hang out after eating. (急ごう。直後、ぶらぶらしたいんだ。)
You: Where will you stroll? (どこを歩くの？)
Colleague: I’m new here, so I don’t know this town very well. Is there any place you want to introduce me? (僕は、ここに慣れていないんだ。だからこの街をあまりよく知らない。君が僕に紹介したい場所はある？)
You: Yes, I’ll show you around this building. (うん、このビルの周辺を案内するよ。)
Colleague: That’s nice! (それは良いね！)
You: But we need a lot of time to do that. Will you have free time after work today? (でも、それをするには時間がたくさん必要だね。今日は、仕事の後時間がある？)
Colleague: Yes, I’ll have a lot of time. (うん、たくさんあるよ。)
★つ・ぶ・や・き★
新しい場所であまりなじみが無いときは、不安ですね。
食事や買い物をする場所も分かりません。
そんなとき、同僚にいろいろと教えてもらうと助かります。
彼らは、仕事の後どこへ行くのでしょうか？
