Greetings,
As you can see by my resume, I have extensive experience in Japan teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. I want to work with you to find the lesson style that works for you. I'm very patient, honest, and flexible. You never have to feel nervous when speaking with me.
Lessons will be tailored to suit your needs. If you want to study for an upcoming test, prepare for an interview with a foreign company, study vocabulary before a big meeting, or just brush up on your English I can design the right lesson for you.

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Joel Lipton and I'm very interested in teaching you.
I first came to Japan in June 2010 and worked for the AEON Corporation in Hamamatsu. There I learned valuable skills in regards to working at Eikaiwa. At AEON Hamamatsu I taught mainly adults students ages 11+. I also routinely made visits to companies in various locations to give business English lessons. I quickly mastered the use of several varied original textbooks as well as prepared my own lesson materials. Together the other teachers at the branch school and I collectively taught over 400 students. I was in charge of lesson preparation for private lessons, small group (6 people) and large (12+ people) lessons. While working at AEON, I had the opportunity to prepare students in private lessons for various tests including the TOEFL. I am proud to say that my two TOEFL students received an 89 and 68 on the TOEFL ibt120. During my time there I also honed my ability to adapt my teaching style to fit the various needs and ages of the students. At AEON I often taught businessmen and college age students and was able to help them feel comfortable speaking the language. Younger students are a demographic I feel very comfortable with. While working at AEON I traveled to nearby businesses 4 times a week to conduct corporate lessons on site. My company lessons students really enjoyed their lessons, and improved their English abilities greatly.
Starting in September 2012 to March 2013 I worked for the Interac Corporation in Osaka city. I worked as an ALT for Mihara Nishi Junior High school in Sakai city. Working there has given me valuable experience with younger students. I've learned how to create activities for large groups of over 40 students as well as how to make lessons interesting for them. At Mihara Nishi I worked alongside Japanese teachers of English to give lessons and create lesson plans.
Starting in April 2013 I began working for Joytalk as an ALT for the Hakusan JHS and Sakurayama ES in Higashimatsuyama city, Saitama. Working at both schools has allowed me to further polish my lesson planning skills and has given me experience with young children. At my JHS I worked with the children on EIKEN preparation as well.
Starting in January 2014 I began working in Shinjuku at an Eikaiwa called Talk Avenue. I design lesson plans and give private lessons in an intimate setting to adults.
I believe I would make an excellent candidate for employment because of my strong work ethic, experience at Eikaiwa and public schools, and desire to please. I’m highly confident that I will be able to put my experience in Japan to use at your company.
With my experience as an ALT and as an Eikaiwa teacher I believe I will become a valuable asset to you. I thank you for your consideration.
