Hello, my name is Cecelia and I am from Washington, D.C.- capital of U.S.A. I attended Georgetown University for college, and then lived in South Korea for 2 years. Right now, I am studying at the University of Tokyo. I really enjoy living in Tokyo.
I know how difficult it is to learn a foreign language. I studied Japanese and Korean for several years. I have a lot of experience both studying and teaching a foreign language. I believe I can help you learn English while having fun. I look forwarding to meeting you!
From 2015 - 2016, I was an EFL teacher at an elementary school in South Korea. I taught English to all grades: 1st grade through 6th grade. I was a full-time EFL teacher; teaching both morning English classes and after school theme-based English lessons. I had over 500 students, half of which I taught alone (no co-teacher). I also planned 17 lessons per-week on my own and recorded the progress of each of my students.
Also, from 2015- 2017, I provided private tutoring sessions to two university students twice a week. For English conversation, students were given an article to read. During the lesson, we would discuss the article while going over vocabulary and practicing some useful grammar. For English writing, the students were given a journal to write in every day. The students were encouraged to use new vocabulary and grammar they learned in previous sessions. The student and I would correct the writing together during class.
