I came to Japan to be with my husband who is a PhD student. Teaching English has been my first choice in looking for a job in Japan. The reason is to get to know Japanese culture and people. In addition, I enjoy a job where I can interact with different kinds of people on a daily basis. I find it interesting and fun meeting new people and hearing their stories and just getting to know them.

My reason for teaching is to help all kinds of people enjoy honing their English communication skills while at the same time learning how to use it confidently and comfortably as well; may it be for business, travel, or even daily life. I am very excited to help you achieve your goals in learning English.

Hi everyone! My name is Charmaine but you can call me Charley. I am from the Philippines.

I have been an English teacher here in Japan for almost a year now and I am loving it! My hobbies are reading, writing and watching movies. I like reading classic novels like Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice, and Little Women. I also use English to write in my daily journal as well as curriculum materials for our Young Adult group. I also belong to several English Book Clubs with my friends reading books together and sharing our thoughts. Finally, I love Marvel movies, Disney movies and Anime!

As you can see, I love the English language and I enjoy using it in my everyday life so I want others to share the same joy of meeting new people and making new connections using this universal language.
