I came here to Japan to have a new experience and know what it's like to work with another nationality culture and language.
I've worked in Thailand,taught Chinese kids ,In Philippines,too.I want to to know the difference of each.
My name is Erika but you can call me Teacher Kai or Miss Erika
I am a licensed professional teacher in the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education Major in Mathematics. I’ve worked as an ESL teacher for 7 years teaching Chinese kids aging 3-15 years old. I also worked in Thailand for 4 years teaching Math, English and PE subjects in a classroom setting. I’m currently based here in Japan as an ALT to junior high school students. My visa status is still under renewal and I don’t have my new Residence Card yet.
I’ve taught different learners with very diverse learning styles. Teaching learners with various learning styles wasn’t easy at the beginning. Since it is in the nature of kids to have very short attention especially to the things they are not familiar with.
But as I deal with them every class, I was able to find different ways or techniques to catch their attention and teach them effectively.
I can say that with all the experiences I had teaching these kids I have improved myself more and grow to be a good teacher who can be mentor and at the same time a friend. I am prepared to handle various students and enjoy learning with them. It greatly helped me become knowledgeable enough in dealing situations to improve my teaching styles as a teacher.
