英会話を勉強する生徒へアドバイス

Hello,

Until I was 22 I could not speak English at all. However, one thing changed everything. One day I watched Speed starring Keanu Reeves. I had been crazy about him ever since and dreamed of a date with him. Silly, eh? But it was one dream that drove me to work hard to learn English because only did I speak English I could date him. I began studying hard and within less than 5 years, instead of dating Keanu Reeves, I started my job as an English teacher! My Canadian teacher said my English was already of native level and I should teach English. Now I have been teaching for over 10 years and meeting eager students of English is more exciting than Keanu :-) Hope to see you soon!

July 2006 to 14 October 2009
Temasek International School. I taught English to 7,8,9 and 10 graders. The curriculum is Singaporean based. The school is the center for Cambridge International Examinations (GCE O’ Level / IGCSE). Classes are conducted in English and consist of up to 20 students both local and international students.

September 2007 to May 2009
Cendekia Leadership School. I taught English to 1 to 6 graders. The focus was English communication skill development. Students aged 5 ? 11. A lot of speaking activies such as games and roleplay. English was the language of communication in this school.

Feb 2006 to the end of 2008
The British Institute
Hourly paid teacher. I taught Global English (general English) to students of
Elementary to Intermediate levels. Sometimes I taughtteenagers and Children. Classes consist of up to 15 students.

Jun 2003 to June 2007
Mulya Mitra College (MMC). This is a local language school. I taught Children’s class, General English (Elementary to Upper Intermediate sometimes pre-Advanced levels), TOEFL and TOEIC Preparation.

Nov 1999 ? Jun 2003
ELS Language Centers (Buah Batu), Bandung, Indonesia. The school closed down in mid 2003 as the owner did not renew the fanchise. It was one of ELS Language Centers’ schools in Indonesia. I taught Children’s classes, General English classes (Elementary to Upper Intermediate Levels) TOEFL Preparation. As for in-house trainings, I taught the employees of several companies such as NISP Bank, BRI (Indonesian People Bank), PT. Pos Indonesia (Indonesian Postal Service), Coca Cola, PLN (Indonesian Electricity Company) Bandung, Mandiri Bank and Jabar Bank (Bank of West Java).
