Learning a new language is never easy, especially if you are learning it in your home country.
But it's not impossible. It takes hard work, dedication and a willingness to make mistakes.
What I do, is to work with my students and make a plan that sets definite goals for them to work towards. This gives them a target to aim for and makes them feel good when they finally reach the goal.
The most important thing to remember is that practice makes perfect. So I like to give my students lots of opportunities to practice their English skills.
I have worked at a variety of levels and ages during my teaching career. From Kindergarten students all the way up to Senior citizens, beginners to advanced casual.
I started teaching conversational English as a part time job while in university. After my graduation I taught in a Junior High School and an Elementary school for 6 years. Then at a University for 4 years and now I teach Business English to business people going to work overseas.
My varied experiences has given me a unique perspective on the second language teaching process. It gives me an idea on where a student should be in their development and how they can reach a higher level.
