Hello! My name is Sumire but you can call me Sumi!
I'm half Japanese half English and I'm currently an exchange student at Sophia University (上智大学). I love travelling, food, fashion and photography.
I speak a little bit of Japanese but of course I will speak to you in English and try my best to help you improve! I'm really friendly and understand how difficult it is to learn a new language.
My employment experience is mostly waitressing. But in my home university (University of Leeds) I took part in a language partner exchange. This involved meeting with Japanese and Chinese international/ exchange students and practicing conversations with them. Half of the lesson would be them teaching my Japanese/ Chinese and the other half of the lesson would be me teaching them English. We engaged in conversation and I would explain grammar points and words they did not understand and would correct their pronunciation. I also discussed cultural things about the UK and other English speaking countries with them in English as I thought it would be useful practice and information. I took part in this exchange for 2 years with multiple people and really enjoyed it!
