What Brought Me to Japan:
I came to Japan to further my studies and immerse myself in a new cultural environment. Japan has always fascinated me with its rich history, unique traditions, and cutting-edge technology. The opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in TESOL at Sophia University in Tokyo has allowed me to combine my love for education with my interest in Japanese culture. Living and studying in Japan offers me the chance to not only enhance my academic and professional skills but also to experience life in a vibrant and diverse community.
Reason for Becoming an English Teacher:
I became an English teacher because I have a deep passion for language and communication. Growing up, I recognized the importance of English as a global language, and I wanted to help others unlock the doors that proficiency in English can open. Teaching English allows me to share my knowledge and skills while also learning from my students. I find great joy in seeing my students progress and gain confidence in their abilities. My goal as a teacher is to inspire and empower my students to achieve their language learning goals and to support them in their journey toward success.

Commonly Used Texts and Curricula
Cambridge English: For exam preparation (e.g., KET, PET, IELTS), you can use resources from Cambridge University Press, which offers structured textbooks and online resources aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Oxford University Press: Books like English File or New Headway are widely used for general English learning across various levels, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills.
Pearson’s English Language Learning: As a Pearson Edexcel Exam Trainer, you might already be familiar with Pearson’s resources, such as Longman English Grammar Practice or Gold Experience series, which are tailored for young learners and teenagers.
Localized Curriculum Texts: In Japan, textbooks approved by MEXT, such as New Crown or One World, are often used in junior high schools. These texts focus on integrating Japanese cultural contexts with English learning, which could be useful if teaching in a local setting.
