My name is Raymond McMorrin and I am 38 years old. I am a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and highly motivated teacher with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to set and achieve goals. I enjoy working with children and adults. I would like to obtain employment as a music teacher or English instructor where I can utilize my strong teaching skills. I have been playing the tenor saxophone for 27 years teaching music for 17 years and teaching English for 14 years. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Jazz Studies from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. I also have experience in classical, music theory, composition and arranging. While attening The University of Hartford, I taught private and group woodwind lessons at a music store for 4 years to children and adults. My lessons consisted of classical and jazz training.
In 2005 I began teaching English in Japan as an ALT and have worked at Gaba man to man English school. Teaching is not only a learning experience for the students, but for the teacher as well because you gain more knowledge that you can apply to your own skills. The most rewarding experiences that make teaching extremely enjoyable for me are seeing my students improve. Everyday, I encourage and teach them that they can do anything they want as long as they put their minds to it. Encouraging and supporting students is important in helping them to achieve their dreams. I’m looking forward to helping the students reach their goals and aspirations.
