Hi there, my name's Matt, and I'm an ESL tutor from Manchester, U.K.?
I've been teaching English as a Second Language since January 2010 and I've loved every minute of it! I took my TEFL course in Florence, Italy and went on to teach in New Zealand for two years. While I was there I worked with six different institutions, where I taught students in classes from beginner to advanced level. I concentrated on teaching general English and skills practice. I'm now in Tokyo teaching private classes.
Languages are my passion. I studied French and Italian while I was at university and now I'm studying Japanese. I also plan to go to South America and study Spanish in the future. I have been able to take all this foreign language learning and incorporate it into my teaching methods. I always greet my students with a smile and try to create the most relaxed atmosphere as possible in my lessons. I teach through context, whether this be discussing recent news stories or creating role plays to experience practical situations. I designed my own curriculum whilst in New Zealand as I found constantly following text books could be boring at times. I created many fun, interactive activities for?my students to utilise. My goal is to enable students?to learn?vocabulary and grammar efficiently, but more importantly,?in the most fun way possible.
