I came to Japan because I am half Japanese and wanted to strengthen my connection with my family, culture, and identity. Growing up between countries has given me a unique perspective, and it made me realize how powerful language can be in helping people understand the world more deeply. I want to become an English teacher because I enjoy connecting with others and helping them expand their viewpoints through language. Learning English opens access to new ideas, cultures, and opportunities, and I hope to support students in gaining a broader, more global sense of understanding.
Hello! My name is Taylor, and I’m excited to support you on your English-learning journey. As someone who grew up between cultures, I understand how powerful language can be in opening your world, your confidence, and your opportunities. My goal is to make English feel natural and enjoyable by connecting lessons to things you care about — culture, music, hobbies, daily life, and real communication. Whether you want to improve your skills, prepare for an exam, or simply feel more confident, I’m here to guide you step by step. Let’s work together to grow your English ability and your perspective.
My educational background is built on an international curriculum that emphasizes critical reading, academic writing, and analytical thinking. I frequently use English-language textbooks, IELTS and SAT preparation materials, and school-issued literacy texts, which have strengthened my ability to understand complex passages and explain grammar or test strategies clearly. At the same time, I believe that English becomes much more meaningful when connected to real life. Beyond formal materials, I enjoy incorporating culture, music, films, and students’ personal hobbies into lessons to create real connections and genuine engagement. By blending structured academic resources with relatable, everyday content, I aim to help students build confidence, enjoy the learning process, and feel supported both academically and personally.
I have no formal employment experience, but I have gained practical teaching experience by helping classmates study for IELTS, SAT, and school English exams. Through attending an international dual-diploma program taught in English, I have developed strong communication skills and an understanding of how to guide others through difficult concepts.
