I moved to Japan with my children because my husband works here as a software engineer, and I currently reside as a dependent. Back in Sri Lanka, I worked as an English teacher, and I wish to continue my career in the same field here in Japan. Teaching English has always been my passion. I deeply enjoy helping others improve their communication skills, interacting with people from diverse cultures, and fostering cross-cultural understanding. It is incredibly rewarding to see students progress and achieve their goals through learning English, and I am excited about the opportunity to bring my experience and enthusiasm to this role in Japan.

As an English teacher, I explain education policies by clearly outlining classroom rules, grading criteria, and curriculum goals to ensure students understand expectations and objectives. When introducing texts, I provide concise summaries, clarify challenging vocabulary, and connect themes to real-life experiences to enhance engagement. I also emphasize structured writing, critical thinking, and active participation through discussions and assignments, fostering both language proficiency and analytical skills.

I was not good at English when I was younger, but I found it interesting from my high school teacher. So, now I'd like to tell you everything I learned, too.

I came to Japan in order to learn Japanese and study Policy Management in University! I am currently still in University finishing my graduation thesis.

Material used for the lessons may vary based on level ability. Furthermore, I believe that focusing on students conversational abilities are more important rather then their capabilities to read and write.

I enjoy meeting people and get a sense of achievement when my students improve.

The text book "English Grammar In Use" is preferred for lower level students and "On Point" for advanced students as it helps teach critical thinking, but I can teach from your preferred text book too.

I went to Japan to study Master and PhD on health sciences. After the graduation, I want to share my experience of studying with other students and I wish to teach the way of learning and studying for young students from high schools.

Always update and renew the contents, trying to apply advanced methods for education such as AI, virtual reality.

I came to Japan after 10 years in the French police (was working for different units as the anti-criminality squad of the subway in Paris or for the International Cooperation Direction (accompanying and protecting VIP from overseas). I became a teacher to break away from the monotony of lab work and pursue something more dynamic and fulfilling. Initially, I came to Japan to explore the country where my father once worked. However, I quickly fell in love with the culture, the people, and the lifestyle, which inspired me to settle here and build a meaningful career in education.

I graduated Bachelor or Arts in Education Major in English, so it has been my dream to be a teacher, and besides, I was molded and trained to be the best. I came to Japan because my previous Japanese employer who was my student before invited me to lead and teach in his English School in Shizuoka City.

We use a variety of resources and learning materials from textbooks to articles and news clippings. But I make sure to always provide the materials to the student, unless they need to purchase a book for the lesson.

19 years ago I came to Japan on a 2 month home stay. I was living in the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo at the time, and fell in love with Kamakura on a trip there one weekend. I decided to come back and live there for a year. I became an Eikaiwa teacher to make this happen. My original plan was to stay a year but it has been almost 15 years now.
