I taught English to Japanese students when I was in college in San Francisco and I fell in love with Japan and Japanese culture.

To further pursue my teaching career and expand my experiences in a different country

Japan has always been a dream destination for me. Its rich culture, beautiful aesthetics, and seamless blend of tradition and innovation felt like the perfect place to explore and grow personally and professionally. As someone passionate about art, design, and psychology, I’ve found endless inspiration here—from the architecture to the way people value mindfulness and creativity in daily life. Becoming an English teacher felt like the ideal way to connect with people and share something meaningful. It’s not just about teaching a language—it’s about helping others build confidence, express themselves, and reach their goals. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for me to bring my interests into the classroom, like using photography, art, and even psychology to make learning more interactive and engaging. For me, teaching is more than just a job; it’s a way to connect cultures, spark creativity, and create an experience that’s as enjoyable for my students as it is for me.

We move here with my wife, who is Japanese.

I first visited Japan with my family when I was 8 years old, and I instantly fell in love with the culture. From that moment, I dreamed of living here. In 2015, after graduating high school, that dream came true when I enrolled in a Japanese university. I worked hard to achieve native-level Japanese, and now I work for a Japanese company where I use both Japanese and English every day. 日本に惚れたきっかけは、8歳のときに家族と一緒に日本を旅行したことです。 その瞬間からいつか日本に住みたいとう夢を見初めました。 そして2015年には高校卒業後、日本の大学に進学してその夢を叶えました。 ネイティブレベルの日本語を身につけるために一生懸命勉強し、 現在は日本の会社で働いており、日本語と英語の両方を使っている生活しています。

I came to Japan to go to graduate school at 上智大学大学院. I teach English because I enjoy meeting new and interesting people and helping them with their studies.

I came to Japan with my wife and worked as an illustrator for many years, while teaching English part-time. Teaching has become my main job, but I still do my own artwork.

My job transferred me here and I've felt really lucky since then. I really would like to help change the way English is used and taught in Japan so that it can be used more naturally by my students. Listening and reading is important, but so is speaking!

I came to Japan as an international student. I am currently on my second year in a Japanese Language School in Tokyo. I came to Japan because I want to learn Japanese since I am very interested with Japan and its culture. Having to experience living in Japan will help me understand and discover more about Japan's culture. Furthermore, practicing Japanese in a daily basis will further help me improve my Japanese level.

I moved to Japan because I am half Japanese and my family lives here, so it was a natural choice for me. Additionally, I've always had a desire to explore and experience another culture. Becoming an English teacher felt like a natural fit because I love sharing knowledge and helping others learn and grow.

I have always loved Japanese culture, especially the underground hiphop scene, that is super big compared to Denmark. But because I am still in the process of learning Japanese, it's hard to immerse myself completely, with the culture. That is also why I want to teach english in Japan. The textbooks are never the same as everyday topics and if you are a younger person that want to understand and want to be able to have a realistic conversation with natives, the best way is to try and speak it, even if you make mistakes.

I came to Japan as a University student studying International Liberal Studies and quickly became interested in teaching English here as I find many people wish to learn English but struggle to either start or master it so I wish to help share my knowledge and skills.

I love the Japanese Rich Culture and fact that they are still very attached to it and and very keen to pass it to their coming generations. I love the delicious Japanese Food.

I initially came to Japan to visit a family member who was in the military. I liked this country so much, I came back by myself even after my family member left the country. I eventually made a life for myself here. I have always been good with connecting with people, so I used that skill to become successful at teaching English.

Opportunity to live in a completely different culture.

The best place to ignite the fires of learning is where people don't normally speak English - Japan is a country where English is taught in school but not practiced too much. I'm here to allow students to practice and gain confidence. First with me, then with the world.
